Personal AI operating system · October 2025
Product strategy · native app · computer use · agent orchestration
In October 2025, Parallex brought computer control, autonomous agents, persistent context and remote supervision into one connected product. A person could begin with a natural-language instruction, let the system decide which tools and agents were required, and follow the work from a computer or phone.
I designed and engineered the ecosystem across product strategy, interface design, the mobile and desktop experiences, real-time communication, agent architecture, scheduling, integrations and security.
01
AI chat · tasks · agents · plugins
The AI chat was the main command surface: a direct place to ask, plan and begin work. The sidebar exposed the structure behind it without crowding the conversation, bringing new tasks, agents, plugins, scheduled work and recent projects into one clear route.
The mobile experience was not a reduced remote control. It carried the same operating model with the user.
02
Connected laptop · live supervision · in-app setup
Parallex could connect to a real machine, show its screen and keep the user close enough to supervise what was happening. A person could continue the conversation, inspect the connected laptop and remain in control without sitting at the desk.
Adding compute stayed inside the product. The app offered practical routes to buy a VPS, use Parallex Cloud, bring an existing server or connect the current Mac, avoiding a fragmented setup across unrelated services.
03
Plugins · scheduled tasks · reusable procedures
The plugin catalogue connected communication, knowledge, payments, development, databases and deployment tools. That gave agents real places to read, create and act instead of keeping every result inside a chat window.
Scheduled tasks made the same system repeatable. Morning briefings, email checks, portfolio monitoring, social posts and lead collection could each run on their own cadence with a visible status and history.
04
Decomposition · parallel work · handoffs · shared progress
Parallex could break an objective into focused roles, assign work in parallel and bring the results back into one shared outcome. Planning, research, service work, data analysis, interface design and quality review could progress as parts of the same mission.
The interface kept the coordination legible: who was working, what each agent owned and how the pieces were moving toward the result. This was the central product vision—AI as an operating team rather than a single response box.
Parallex connected computer use, agent teams, persistent context, plugins, scheduling and remote supervision before these became mainstream product expectations. The project later moved into a private partnership. That next chapter remains confidential; the original product stands as a record of the direction envisioned and built in October 2025.
